My introduction to fine
art glass began in 1975 when I ran across my first piece
of Steuben gold aurene. I became fascinated with iridescent art
glass and before
long opened an antique shop and stained glass studio in Grosse
Pointe, Michigan.
The fascination
continued an soon I began repairing Tiffany and Tiffany type lamps
and windows along with buying, selling , and researching American
and European
art glass by such companies as Tiffany Studios, Steuben, Quezal,
Durand, Kew Blass,
Imperial, Fenton, Mt. Washington, Lalique, Loetz and by many other
Art Nouveau
era art glass makers.
Many years later, after taking classes at Michigan Hot Glass in
Detroit, Michigan.
I began blowing glass solo and experimenting with the techniques and
designs
particular to the Art Nouveau era of decorated, iridescent art
glass.
Each piece of Odyssey Art Glass is individually
hand-blown/hand-crafted using
only the finest clear an/or colored glass available. Each piece of
Odyssey Art Glass
is also unique, signed, numbered, photographed and cataloged so you
can be
assured that you are purchasing the only piece of its kind
anywhere.
Thank you,
Tom Michael, Odyssey Art Glass
